HP has tied up with Time Inc to share its content on the HP TouchPad hoping users of the tablet will have something worthwhile to do with the device. What followed later had taken everyone by surprise as the tablet went from almost being an outcast to the most talked about tablet device in town, albeit for a brief period and that too after having been privided with a hefty price cut.So with the TouchPad itself being out of action since the last 7 months, it shouldn’t be too surprising the largest magazine publisher in the U.S. is pulling its plug on the device. Users of the TouchPad had been getting to download Time Magazine, People, Sports Illustrated, and Fortune on their device though all of that will cease from March 10. Time has announced those subscribers who have paid some amount would get their refund for the balance time period. However, the option of downloading the magazines via Zinio or other such web based subscription methods would yet be possible.via webosnation[ad#After Post Add]

CyanogenMod 9 has come out with the Alpha 0 build of Android Ice Cream Sandwich for the TouchPad that seems to be hitting headlines more headline post its death than when it was alive. A lot of things are working post the update though, as it usually is with Alpha builds, there will always be some that serves to test our patience. However, in this case, a lot of things are indeed working which also includes the tablet’s connectivity functions such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth which among the things that aren’t working is the ToucPad’s camera. Video playback on the tablet is another issue that too needs some attention and hopefully will be sorted out in the future release soon.Till then, its not too bad an experience that awaits on the other side of the CyanogenMod 9 Alpha 0 update to all TouchPad owners who’d like to have Android 4.0 ICS on their device.Meanwhile, here is also a video of a TouchPad running Android ICS to let you have a feel of what to expect post the update.via engadget[ad#After Post Add]
